Although this sauce was born in Italy, we could give it Spanish nationality, since it is more than incorporated into our traditional recipe book. However, there are some variations regarding the way to taste it. While in our gastronomy it is common to see Bolognese sauce accompanying all kinds of pasta, Italians use it mainly to accompany fresh tagliatelle, polenta or gnocchi.
Leaving these differences aside, the truth is that it is a very tasty and easy sauce To prepare. And much more if we do it with the Thermomix. With the instructions that I provide you, you will get a sauce in which the pieces of carrot and onion are noticeable, which is how I like it. If you prefer to make it finer, you just have to chop the ingredients a little more. It is also your choice to use beef, pork or make it mixed. I always do it with beef so that it has less fat.
Surely seeing the photo above you have already begun to salivate, so let’s see how to make Bolognese sauce with Thermomix Step by Step.
Ingredients to make Bolognese sauce with Thermomix. Quantities for 4 or 5 servings
- 500 g minced beef (or half beef and half pork)
- 700 g of crushed tomato (I used a can)
- 2 medium carrots
- 1 medium onion
- 1 or 2 cloves of garlic (depending on their size and your taste)
- 50g extra virgin olive oil
- Oregano
- Salt
- Black pepper
- peel the garlic. Cut the carrot and onion in big chunks. Place these ingredients in the glass of the Thermomix. Put the lid on and blend it for 4 seconds at speed 5. In this way you will get those chunky pieces of vegetables that I was telling you about before. They show in the sauce, come on. If you want the bolognese to be smooth, blend these ingredients for an additional 2-3 seconds.
- Use the spatula to lower the remains of vegetables that have remained on the walls of the glass. Add the olive oil and a pinch of salt. Program 6 minutes, Varoma temperature, speed 1, turn to the left to make the sauce sauce.
- Add the crushed tomato and spices. program others 6 minutes, with Varoma temperature, speed 1 and turn to the left. Remember to remove the lid and place the basket on the mouth of the glass. This makes it easier for the water in the tomato to evaporate and, at the same time, avoids the typical splashes caused by the tomato when it is fried.
- Add the minced meat. Reprogram your Thermomix 12 minutes at Varoma temperature, speed 1 and turn to the left. Put the basket back on the jar in place of the lid.
- After this time you will have your bolognese sauce made with Thermomix. Season with salt and/or pepper if necessary. Remember that you are going to mix it with the pasta, which has a fairly neutral flavor, so it should not be bland.
- Finally cook the pasta in plenty of salted water and mix it with the sauce. Remember not to add oil to the cooking water. So that the pasta does not stick, just stir it a little from time to time. How to serve this easy bolognese sauce made with Thermomix
- Although in the image you see the bolognese sauce placed on the pasta (I did it that way so that the sauce had more prominence), the ideal would be mix both preparations before serving so that the pasta is well impregnated with the sauce.
- I love to season pasta dishes with Bolognese sauce with a little bit of oregano Y Parmesan. If the sauce is very hot, the cheese will melt little by little and it will be delicious. If you don’t have Parmesan you can use another Italian cheese like Grana Padanowhich is somewhat cheaper and has a similar taste and texture.
- It is also great to add a few leaves of fresh basil. You can even substitute all the oregano in the recipe for basil; it is quite a delight.
